Perospero wraps Brook and Chopper in candy, describing how the coating will suffocate them and soak inward, converting each body to candy within three minutes, with a countdown clock forming above Chopper's head. As he starts on Brook, Katakuri cautions that company is near, and right then the crew bursts onto the shore with Big Mom still chasing. Recognizing that his soldiers were the ones the lightning consumed, Katakuri orders the rest into the Mirro-World before Luffy's Conqueror's Haki can drop them.

Perospero flings a spiked candy iron maiden, yet Luffy smashes clean through it using Gomu Gomu no Red Hawk and stretches the strike at Katakuri, who deflects it with mochi. Pinned between Big Mom to one flank and the two brothers to the other, Luffy is told by Jinbe to clear Katakuri off the ship, but every punch fails against the mochi body. Perospero radios Mont-d'Or to encircle the coast with tarte ships, then pins the charging Pedro beneath his candy cane and boasts of his 700 million berry bounty. Stunning everyone, Pedro ignites a stash of bombs hidden in his jacket, swallowing himself and Perospero in a massive blast.

Using his Pero Pero no Mi, Perospero binds both Brook and Chopper, and the candy-conversion process gets a full explanation. Luffy and his group reach the Sunny, Katakuri pulls his subordinates back into the mirror, and Luffy duels Katakuri. Amande is named the Minister of Nuts within Totto Land, and Perospero's bounty stands at 700,000,000 berries. After Perospero encases the Sunny in candy, Pedro's suicidal blast also breaks the ship free.

The cover advances the Sai arc, presenting his former fiancee Uholisia for the first time as he prepares to share something important. As his final act, Pedro frames the crew as the saviors the Kouzuki Family has awaited for centuries, the people destined to usher in a new dawn for the world, giving his sacrifice deeper meaning.
