Chapter 898

Gunfire bounces harmlessly off Germa 66, and Ichiji tells Sanji to carry Luffy off the island while the family settles their score. As the Big Mom Pirates recall the legends of Germa's enhanced bodies, Oven asks what became of Nusstorte, and Ichiji answers that he was hurled into the sea, likening Nusstorte's squad to swatted insects. At the ruined Whole Cake Chateau, Mont-d'Or cannot raise his brothers and Niwatori panics over how Germa even reached them; a beaten Nusstorte drifts on the water near Lake Aprico. Off Cacao Island, Smoothie holds her fleet's course after the Straw Hats and is joined by Daifuku.

Sanji smashes through pirate after pirate as he and Luffy escape, while Brûlée tearfully shouts that Luffy actually defeated Katakuri rather than dodging him. The revelation stuns the crew into disbelief and pushes Oven into a rage; he lunges at the unconscious pair but is overpowered by Ichiji, who tells Sanji to flee skyward. Yonji shatters the orb of Yuen's staff and swings him by the head into buildings, while Niji snatches Sanji clear of a missile blast and carves through snipers at high speed before hurling Sanji and Luffy over the fleet toward the Sunny. Oven's calls to the blockade ships go unanswered because Reiju has poisoned much of that crew to clear her brother's path. Carrot spots Sanji soaring in, and he tells Luffy their ship is finally in sight.

Road debuts as the New Giant Warrior Pirates navigator. The truth of Nusstorte's report comes out, two more Charlotte members, Basskarte and Dosmarche, are named as part of his Germa-raiding squad, and Nusstorte is confirmed as the 12th son. Daifuku appears on Smoothie's ship, Yonji's forearm device is shown, Brûlée spreads word of Katakuri's defeat, and the Vinsmokes get Sanji and Luffy off Cacao Island. The cover continues the Hajrudin Arc deserter feature.
