Seizing the snail phone, Perospero confirms the cake now rests on Funwari Island and lays out three possible endings. Poison that kills Big Mom would spell the finish of the crew; a survived poisoning that leaves her displeased would send her rampaging until the territory is leveled; only a cake she finds delicious keeps the harm from spreading. Learning that Stussy and Morgans slipped off Whole Cake Island, Mont-d'Or fumes and commands their capture so no account of these events escapes to the wider world.

Island after island falls into gloom, the residents doubting Pudding could rebuild a dessert that once cost Streusen several days, and many bolt in terror. When the paddle ships close in and Jinbe's spirit nearly breaks, the sea heaves and Wadatsumi erupts, scattering vessels, as Jinbe dives to reunite with the Sun Pirates, who swear to guard their old captain until he clears Totto Land.

Word on Big Mom's condition reaches Mont-d'Or through Perospero, the fresh cake having been left at Funwari by Bege and Chiffon just before she moves to eat it. Morgans and Stussy are shown to have quit the island, prompting the order for Morgans' arrest. A new location, Cutlery Island, is introduced beside Poripori and Ice Islands, the Nostra Castello is destroyed, a healed Judge joins the fight against Smoothie's ships, and the Sun Pirates surface to aid the crew's flight.
