The Star of Ebisu Town

Word of a Kuri wildfire and the arrest of the legendary bandit Ushimitsu Kozo throws the capital into an uproar. Inside Orochi's castle, Fukurokuju pushes the grief-stricken shogun to hear the prisoner's true weight, first defending Kyoshiro's slaying of Komurasaki as a shield for the shogun's dignity. When he names the captive, Orochi is stunned the man still breathes and resolves to televise the death as a lesson, scheduling it to coincide with Komurasaki's rites and vowing to attend in person.

Elsewhere in the mines, Kaidou phones Queen with the news of Komurasaki's passing, crushing the freshly roused All-Star. As Queen powers up the Filming Pond Tanishi, Luffy hails him for a rematch, and Queen balks at how much larger Luffy and Hyougoro have grown overnight. Watching from cover, Raizo and Caribou observe that gorging so heavily was bound to make them conspicuous, while Queen's crew keeps quiet about his missing sweets.

Unable to smother the blaze, the Mt. Atama thieves retreat, seizing the Holed'em subordinate who lit it. Shutenmaru marches on Bakura Town for payback even knowing it may rouse Kaidou. Learning this, Kin'emon hurries out, glad the fire is luring Ashura Doji back within reach of their cause, while a smug Holed'em assumes the bandit burned to death. Brook then enters the Northern Cemetery house and is stunned to find Hiyori resting against Zoro. After grasping who she is, he shares word of the coming funeral and the looming public death of the thief, who is in truth Tonoyasu. Toko blurts that the man is her father and tears off to rescue him, with Hiyori, Zoro, and Brook chasing after. Over in Ebisu Town, its people view the crucifixion through a Tanishi as Kanjuro and Shinobu at last place him: Yasuie, the fallen daimyo of Hakumai who once served the Kouzuki.

The captured Ushimitsu Kozo is set to die at the same hour as Komurasaki's funeral, with Orochi heading to the Rasetsu District to witness it himself. Kaidou informs Queen of Komurasaki's death, Mt. Atama is torched to eliminate Shutenmaru, and Kin'emon and Inuarashi move to intercept. Brook reunites with Zoro, and the thief is confirmed to be Tonoyasu, whose real name is Yasuie, a former Kouzuki daimyo; Kanjuro and Shinobu recall his downfall. The color spread shows the crew thumbing rides toward assorted places. Part of the Wano Country Arc.
