Chapter 988

Confronting the minks under the full moon, Kaidou recalls that the light unlocks their Sulong power, and Jack arrives at the rooftop heading a large platoon that includes one of the Numbers. Down inside the dome, King catches sight of Shinobu as she attempts to free Momonosuke and flings her off, yet an unseen Sanji cuts the boy's chains and flies him clear. King then takes his pteranodon shape and rams Sanji into a nearby tower. At the same time, Big Mom strikes at Luffy and wrenches Zeus away from Nami, turning the homie against her, until the Kurosai FR-U IV comes barreling in with Franky and Brook aboard.

The Guardians and the Inuarashi Musketeer Squad shift into their forms to face Jack, freeing their two leaders to keep their focus squarely on Kaidou. Fighting in his Raid Suit, Sanji blocks King's kick, hands Momonosuke to Shinobu, then is driven through a wall. Despite Yamato's ongoing fight with Ulti, Luffy tells him to go guard Momonosuke. Big Mom punches a hole through Onigashima with Napoleon and, reclaiming the summoned Zeus, forces the cloud to attack Nami, who declares their bond finished. Franky then runs the vehicle over her face while Brook slices Zeus in two with Soul Solid.

Making his introduction here is Nangi of the Numbers. Using the invisibility of his Raid Suit, Sanji pulls Momonosuke to safety, and Luffy accepts he must handle Big Mom before he can pursue Kaidou. Nami's friendship with Zeus ends once the cloud is called back and made to strike her. The cover continues the Bege story, with Pound swimming after the departing ship in spite of a Marine bombardment. It falls within the Wano Country arc.
