Appearance

Kabuto loomed over both Saitama and Genos, an enormous creature whose frame borrowed heavily from a rhinoceros beetle. A thick shell armored his body, hardened wing cases hid a pair of wings along his back, and a broad horn jutted from his skull, with jagged spikes running down his limbs. Brown covered most of him. Once he entered what he called Carnage Mode, he tore off that carapace, swelled with muscle, and grew a sharper, longer horn; the brown gave way to purple and green, his eyes flooded red, and every tooth turned to a point, leaving him looking oddly more human than before.

Personality

Behind the raw power sat a deeply unstable mind. Genus judged his intellect enormous yet buried him underground because his craving for slaughter never let up, and that instability was, in the doctor's eyes, his fatal defect. Kabuto held humans in contempt, branding himself the true new human that Genus had chased for years and demanding that everyone bow to him. He was caustic, quick to rage, and largely stripped of empathy. A sharp survival instinct rode alongside the arrogance, so when he felt the danger radiating off Saitama he leaped clear on reflex, though after hearing the hero's unremarkable backstory his pride shoved the fear aside and he attacked anyway.

Abilities

As the strongest thing the House of Evolution ever produced, Kabuto carried strength worthy of a Dragon-level rating. When Saitama and Genos wrecked the lab, Genus freed him from his cell and begged him to secure a sample of Saitama's body. Kabuto sneered at his maker but took the job for the sheer joy of killing, tearing through Genus's clones on the way out. He drove Genos headfirst into a wall, shrugged off the cyborg's flames and Machine Gun Blows without a mark, and flattened him with one strike. The moment he lunged at Saitama, though, his instincts screamed and he threw himself backward, certain a single exchange would kill him. Terrified, he demanded to know how the hero grew so strong; unconvinced by the answer, he burst into Carnage Mode and vowed to rampage until the following Saturday. Saitama, suddenly realizing the day and a missed market sale, ended everything with one punch that obliterated his chest, throat, and head.

His durability was extreme, his shell likened to an impenetrable fortress that laughed off automatic gunfire and flame alike. Despite his bulk he moved fast enough to blur past Genos, and his dynamic vision let him track the cyborg as though it crawled in slow motion. His breath alone could scatter Genos's incineration blasts, while hidden wings let him take flight. Carnage Mode multiplied his size and might and threw him into an unstoppable frenzy that lasted a full week. In Dr. Kuseno's Virtual Genocide Simulation his recorded self felled Sneck in seconds and beat Metal Bat in minutes, yet even at full Carnage Mode he was outlasted by Superalloy Darkshine and, once spent, by Zombieman. Before facing Gouketsu, Genos still counted Kabuto the deadliest foe he had ever met.
