Chapter 154: Ambush

Struggling to his feet after Golden Sperm's beating, Fuhrer Ugly is caught by surprise when Homeless Emperor flings a spread of energy orbs at him, admitting he could not simply keep watching. The monster spits a drop of acid in return, but it is intercepted by the spheres, and Homeless Emperor follows up with a relentless bombardment. Overwhelmed and briefly floored, Fuhrer Ugly gets back up, accepts that he cannot win, and withdraws slowly while swearing vengeance on both attackers. Golden Sperm means to finish him, yet Homeless Emperor persuades him to let the creature live, arguing he is still useful.

Golden Sperm then rounds on Superalloy Darkshine, who quakes after being corroded by Fuhrer Ugly's digestive fluids. Sneering at his failure as an S-Class hero, the monster launches him with one punch toward Iaian, Atomic Samurai, and Spring Mustachio. Off on his own, Fuhrer Ugly plots revenge against the pair and against Bang while hunting the old master. Four Black Sperm clones move to ambush him, only for Metal Bat to appear behind them demanding Garou's whereabouts and to erase all four in a single swing. King then emerges from the rubble, aching over his separation from Metal Bat.

Homeless Emperor rains his Extreme Carpet Bombing on Atomic Samurai, Iaian, and Spring Mustachio, whose blades deflect the falling orbs and shield the group, while Genos and Tatsumaki fight off a horde of clones. Dodging a massive blast thanks to his Underdog Man robot, Child Emperor calls Bofoi for urgent help, then holds his breath with under ten minutes of oxygen and trusts his transmitter to lead rescuers to him; Puri-Puri Prisoner soon arrives. Stripped of every limb, Genos crawls onward carrying an unconscious Tatsumaki as King's King Engine rumbles into view.

Homeless Emperor turns on Fuhrer Ugly and drives him off, sparing his life to keep him useful. Golden Sperm knocks Superalloy Darkshine out of the battle. Metal Bat destroys four Black Sperm clones and King reunites with him. Child Emperor calls for aid and is rescued by Puri-Puri Prisoner. King reaches the limbless Genos as he shields Tatsumaki from the swarming clones.

The chapter appears in Volume 30 within the Monster Association Arc, with Fubuki on the cover, and draws partially on Chapter 73 of the webcomic. Its events match the online-numbered Chapter 149, also titled Ambush, since the print and web releases follow separate counts. It was released on July 9, 2021.
