Patrolling the chaos, Metal Bat spots Elimin and Destro hauling the beaten Zaedats and Infelsinave away, a sight that leaves him uneasy. In another district, the rookie Blue closes in on Shell King and finishes the creature off. The victory is brief. A fresh menace surfaces, and even after McCoy cautions that his suit is nearly drained, Blue charges straight at it.

Having downed a monster of his own, Metal Bat hears from his squad that one of the Neo Heroes leaders is still pinned in a fight, so he sets off to lend a hand. On the way he watches Elimin and Destro dragging the defeated Zaedats and Infelsinave, and questions whether the pair rescued them. Blue, meanwhile, reaches his post only to find his whole unit already crushed by Shell King, a Demon-level Mysterious Being backed by its crustacean troops, the Shellfolk. Reminding himself that first battles seldom go cleanly and that he still has plenty to learn, he throws himself at the huge crab-shaped foe and wipes out both the leader and its swarm.

With the fight over, Blue reports to McCoy that the danger is gone but the losses were heavy, and calls for medics to treat the wounded. Asked what facing a real monster taught him, Blue answers that carelessness is a fighter's worst foe and that Demon-level beings differ wildly in raw power. His reflection is cut short by a blast erupting behind him, revealing another towering Mysterious Being. McCoy flags that the battle suit's reserves are almost spent, yet Blue ignores the warning and sprints toward the new opponent.
