Death Arms

The Punching Hero quit. Death Arms spent a career hauling wreckage nobody else could lift, then let one heckler outweigh ten supporters and walked away after the Paranormal Liberation War. What brought him back was not an argument. His body simply moved on its own.

Appearance

Height and mass define him: over two metres of muscle on a wide frame, skin lightly tanned, with a jaw that juts out noticeably and eyes that look small in the middle of it all. His white hair is short and spiked back behind his head.

The costume runs on caution stripes. A broad headband in yellow-and-black hazard striping matches the thick guards at his wrists and the belt at his waist, whose square buckle carries a triangular ornament at its center. Above that is a cyan cardigan that leaves his lower torso and the middle of his chest bare, fastened at either side of the chest by little metal nuts. The trousers are dark blue with a white stripe down each leg and cut slightly baggy. His shoes are black and unremarkable.

Eight years past the Final War, more lines mark his face and the headband is visibly cracked and worn.

Personality

He is a serious man with no patience for recklessness, which is why he scolded Izuku Midoriya for the recklessness of diving after Katsuki Bakugo. Respected as he was, praise never stuck the way criticism did: by his own accounting, one loud heckler drowns out ten fans. The pressure that followed the Paranormal Liberation War broke him, and he retired, sullen and hollowed out, having decided he was no hero and only human.

During the Final War, with debris coming down on civilians, he moved before he had decided to, and said as much out loud, remembering that Izuku had done exactly the same thing on the day they met. His confidence returned with the reflex, and so did he. He resumed active duty afterward, and eight years later ranked as the No. 42 Pro Hero.

Abilities

His unnamed Quirk concentrates brawn in his arms, enough to shift loads that would otherwise require industrial machinery. Close combat is the whole of his approach.
