Hoshi is a guard on the lowest floors of the JAA prison whose entire focus is shielding the young oracle Atari, a duty she pursues with grim seriousness and open contempt for anyone who treats the girl as a mere tool.
Hoshi keeps her black hair pulled back into a ponytail and wears the standard uniform of the prison's guards.
Stern and rarely smiling, Hoshi treats the protection of Atari as her one non-negotiable duty and never strays far from the girl's side. She accepts the oracle's forecasts as flat truth and reserves genuine hostility for anyone who belittles her or reduces her to a convenient instrument, freely speaking ill of those she has decided she cannot trust.
Stationed to watch over Atari deep inside the JAA jail, Hoshi presses the oracle on the purpose of her warnings after learning that she, Atari, and Daikyo are all fated to die if they stay put. Talked into breaking out, the group runs headlong into the calamity known as Tenkyu, who catches Hoshi with a surprise kick to the face and drives her into a wall. Outmatched though she is, she still relies on sharp reflexes and speed to snatch Atari clear of spike traps, and she ultimately escapes alongside the oracle and Sakamoto's allies, resolving to turn against the JAA to win Atari's freedom.
