Summary

Mafuyu looks back on his boyhood, remembering a father who drove him and his brother Natsuki through brutal training meant to shape them into elite killers, even though neither cared for the work. Packed off to a mountain to sharpen their craft, the two instead spent their days tinkering with the gadgets Natsuki built. By then Natsuki had already resolved to design an invisibility suit and abandon the assassin's path, chasing a future as a professional weapons maker.

When their father found out Natsuki had frittered away his time building devices, he was furious, having counted on his son carrying the family name into the Order. Redirecting his hopes onto Mafuyu, he decided the younger boy's place in the organization had to be locked in, and to that end he chose to ship Mafuyu off to the JAA's shady facility for children, seeing it as the way to forge a proper member. Determined to pull his brother out, Natsuki enrolled in that facility once he finished his studies at JCC, while Mafuyu, set on protecting Natsuki, vowed to reach the Order first so he could shield him.

In the present, Shin plants himself between Mafuyu and Osaragi to keep him safe. A freezing bomb suddenly goes off, sealing Osaragi in ice, and to everyone's shock Natsuki steps forward clad in a complete full body suit.
