Appearance

Gray eyes beneath a short blonde bob give Hae-In a striking, youthful look. On the shorter side, she carries a slender, slight build paired with a full chest. Red armor tends to dominate her raid wardrobe, and her weapon is a black blade set into a silver hilt. As soon as she reaches for her powers, a yellow glow rises in her eyes.

Personality

Calm, serious, and watchful, Hae-In treats Hunter work with painstaking care, frequently patrolling a boss lair on raids so the mining and hauling crews stay safe. Her sword training never lets up; she was still attending kendo lessons two years into her S-Rank standing, and her instincts ran sharp enough that one meeting with Jinwoo told her something about him was off. Rare among the elite, she holds no contempt for lower ranks and meets everyone she encounters with humility. Step outside the dungeon, though, and she turns socially awkward, keeps few friends, and rattles easily, as Jinwoo's teasing over her borrowed pickaxe left her mortified.

History

Hae-In made her name as a track athlete before a bad ankle injury ended that career. She awakened later, climbed the ranks until she stood as Korea's ninth S-Rank Hunter, and signed on with the Hunters Guild as its second-in-command. Her teammates tagged her The Dancer for the graceful sweep of her swordwork, a label she disliked enough to ban them from saying. Jinwoo first entered her orbit during guild raids on A-Rank Gates, where her uncommon mana sensitivity drew her toward the disguised E-Rank miner whose scent, alone among every Hunter's, read as pleasant rather than rank. Wary of the secrecy around his Association file, she shadowed him, and following him into an A-Rank Gate she saw his shadow army cut down High Orcs and convert the defeated shaman Kargalgan into a fresh summon called Tusk.

Across the Jeju Island campaign she fought alongside the other Korean S-Ranks, downing Kanae Tawata in the pre-raid mock bouts, taking the Ant Queen's head, and twice holding Jinwoo back when his sparring with foreign Hunters edged toward lethal. The raid nearly ended her: marked by the Ant King as the most dangerous Korean on the field, she had her organs ruptured by a single blow and lay unconscious until Jinwoo, having killed the King, briefly raised the healer Min Byung-Gyu as a shadow to pull her back. That near-death stirred feelings she could not say aloud, and she later attempted to join Jinwoo's new Ahjin Guild under the cover of wanting a change, passing his entrance trial against Igris before driving herself perilously hard against Beru. Asked at last whether she had feelings for him, she admitted it with a blush, only to have him refuse her guild request and leave her stewing in shame.

Their paths kept crossing afterward. She passed along a warning from Byung-Gyu's spirit about the powers locked within him, watched on broadcast in horror as the Monarchs seemingly slew him in Seoul, and stood with the worldwide Hunter army readying for the final assault. After Antares fell and the Rulers fired the Cup of Reincarnation, time wound back a decade and stripped away her Hunter memories. The rebuilt timeline left her mana sense intact, and Jinwoo, back from defeating the Monarchs, found her once more, mended the leg she had strained in competition, and made good on his vow to reunite. The two married in time and welcomed Suho, with signs that Jinwoo slowly returned her old memories as their life together went on.
