Tiel

Tiel's genuine shape is that of an angelic warrior sheathed in golden armor, a horned helm above feathery white wings, his blank eyes burning gold. To slip into the human world unnoticed by Jinwoo, he broke himself into five pieces, and his first fragment looked like a pale infant with white hair and yellow, oddly patterned eyes. Each reunion aged the body: merging with his second fragment turned him into a small boy dressed in a white suit, while absorbing the third grew him into a tall, muscular young man. Under his hunter alias he wore a pale blue high-collared jacket with black pants and shoes.

Devotion to his masters borders on fanaticism for Tiel, and he pursues his assigned mission with total commitment. Sharp-eyed and clever, he studies foes for their weaknesses, engineered an undetectable entry into the human world, and turned Minsung into a pawn for his brainwashing plot. He holds humanity in contempt for daring to have its own desires, believing every creation must obey its creator. Centuries of war and survival have left him stoic and composed, seldom rattled, yet murderously protective of his masters, once cutting a man in half merely for an accidental insult against them.

Forged by the Itarim, Tiel spent millennia waging their wars. When his masters noticed that the Absolute Being's world had lost its ruler, they sent him to seize it, but Jinwoo's overwhelming strength drove the Apostles back, with many of their soldiers absorbed into his army. As his comrades despaired, Tiel proposed conquering the world from within by introducing the Mist Burns, then split himself into five fragments to enter unseen, only to find an unexpected complication in the existence of hunters.

Holding just a sliver of his true power, Tiel bided his time and struck a bargain with Minsung, supplying Stardust derived from the Mist Burns in exchange for helping Minsung kill his employer Lim Tae-Gyu. He gathered followers, brainwashed magic beasts such as Rakan's last servant Brocky, and his second fragment soon arrived, aging him into a boy. He later seized a Chivalry Guild gate by force, unleashed monsters at a Korean airport to lure out an S-Rank, and was caught off guard when Sung Suho appeared wielding necromantic skills like his father's. Choi Jong-In's intervention forced Tiel to retreat. Reuniting with his third fragment, he then posed as the hunter Park Dojin, was rated S-Rank by an association that never suspected him, joined the Fiend Guild, and aimed to sabotage the Paju Field Dungeon raid to protect a hidden Stardust factory.
