Summary

Far down in the D-Rank dungeon, Jinwoo crosses paths again with his old Double Dungeon teammates. Among them stand Kim Sangshik, Jeongho, Joohee, and Mr. Song. Friction lingers toward Kim, whom Jinwoo blames for abandoning him at the Cartenon Temple; Kim feels the regret but cannot bring himself to say sorry.

The convict hunters slaughter goblins with relish under Taeshik's watch. Afterward Song remarks on how much tougher Jinwoo has gotten and admires his new dagger, while Joohee notes how rarely he gets hurt now and half-hopes her healing won't be needed, though he tells her he still relies on it. Reading a deeper shift in him, Song senses it runs past the physical and shows in his singular aura. When Joohee asks if he has taken up martial arts, Jinwoo brushes it off as daily exercise. Impatient, Taeshik urges everyone onward.

Key Events

Reaching a three-way split, Taeshik suggests dividing to move faster after such easy fights. Trusting his sharp perception, Jinwoo pinpoints the boss and takes the left route with Song and Joohee; Taeshik steers his prisoners down the right, while the middle corridor falls to Kim and Jeongho. On parting, Taeshik throws a curious, weighing look toward Jinwoo, who catches it.

Notes

Kim and Jeongho cut through their goblins with ease, Kim lopping off the last head in one stroke. He jokes that the so-called Weakest Hunter being here means low risk, but Jeongho reminds him of Jinwoo's role in the deadly double dungeon. Recalling how Jinwoo saved them, Kim resolves to apologize once this dungeon is done, the guilt gnawing at him. Meanwhile, hands tucked in his pockets, Taeshik watches the convicts boot a lopped-off head toward him, then teasingly asks whether killing people would come as easily as killing goblins; they shrug that it makes no difference. The chapter belongs to the Dungeon & Prisoners Arc and adapts into Episode 9, collected in volume three.
