Summary

Wanting Han Song-Yi to witness hunting's harsh reality, Jinwoo escorts her to a C-rank gate, where a favor from Ahn Sangmin lands them spots on a training raid run by the White Tiger Guild for newcomers. Guild members and freelancers fill out the party under A-rank guild master Kim Chul, who treats the two E-Ranks as a burden. Judging the roster powerful, Jinwoo wonders if the clear will prove too easy, and at Hyun's request he agrees to dial back so the rookies can gain experience.

Everything goes sideways once the gate warps into a Red Gate, a portal that holds everyone until the dungeon is finished. Jinwoo grabs Song-Yi and dashes for the way out, but the opening seals before they reach it. He calls to Ahn to alert the main team, and Ahn contacts Baek Yoonho, who is shocked by the transformation and vows to arrive right away. Elsewhere, Hwang Dongsoo touches down from America, where a cool Woo Jinchul greets him at arrivals, and he lays bare his plan to kill Jinwoo and Jinho, taking out the E-Rank first.

Key Events

Thanks to Ahn Sangmin's intervention, Jinwoo and Song-Yi slot into the White Tiger training raid. Kim Chul, who serves as guild master and holds an A-rank, heads the party against a C-rank dungeon and brushes off the two low-ranks. The gate then turns into a Red Gate, sealing the entire party inside with no escape until the boss is slain. Arriving from America and received by Woo Jinchul, Hwang Dongsoo declares his intent to wipe out Jinwoo and Jinho; when he taunts whether someone like Jinchul could stop him, Jinchul calmly replies he is only doing his job.

Notes

This chapter kicks off the Red Gate Arc and lines up with anime Episode 13. Hwang Dongsoo joins the cast as a new menace, and Woo Jinchul's steady refusal to be cowed sets up an early battle of nerves. The Red Gate rule, barring any retreat before a complete clear, establishes the threat that powers the rest of the arc. It is collected in Volume 4.
