Oumi

Oumi is presented as an adult male ghoul, though the series gives him almost no detailed visual design of his own. His most memorable on-screen moment comes not from a standard portrait but from a comedic afterlife skit, where he turns up soaking in a bath alongside two other departed ghouls.

What little the story reveals about Oumi comes through his behavior rather than any stated traits. Weeks of forced starvation leave him reckless and opportunistic, willing to gamble everything on a single hunt inside a crowded human district. That impatience proves to be his undoing.

The notorious appetite of Rize Kamishiro had pushed the ward's ghouls off their usual feeding grounds, and Oumi went weeks without eating. Once Rize was gone and his hunger grew unbearable, he caught sight of Hide Nagachika inside Anteiku and settled on the young man as prey. He lost the trail partway through the chase, then threw himself at whoever happened by next. That unlucky choice turned out to be Kureo Mado, a ghoul investigator who cut him down on the spot.

In a lighter epilogue tucked into the third volume, Oumi appears relaxing in a hell-bound bath with Kie Muramatsu and Kazuo Yoshida, their peace broken the instant Mado wades in after them. The anime dropped him from its main narrative but revived this omake as a post-credits gag at the end of its eighth episode.
