Japanese voice actor born March 23, 1954 in Tokyo. Voiced Captain Ginyu across Dragon Ball Z and video games; returned to voice Paparoni in Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power.
Hideyuki Hori is the original Japanese voice of Captain Ginyu, the flamboyant and menacing commander of the Ginyu Force. Hori's portrayal defined Ginyu's theatrical personality and commanding presence across Dragon Ball Z and various video games until 2009, when he was replaced by Katsuyuki Konishi for Dragon Ball Z Kai. However, Hori made a triumphant return during Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power, voicing Paparoni for two episodes, reuniting him with the franchise after years away.
Born March 23, 1954 in Tokyo, Hori is the younger brother of fellow voice actor Yukitoshi Hori. He works at Aoni Production and has maintained a long career in anime voice acting, demonstrating the range to embody both tragic and comedic characters.
