Takeshi Kusao debuted as a voice actor in 1987, voicing Kai in the Akira film adaptation. He became most famous for his dual roles as both Future Trunks and Trunks across Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and Dragon Ball Super. In Dragon Ball Super, he additionally voiced minor characters including Lavender, Vewon, Hyssop, and Narirama. His work on Trunks helped define the character's cool, determined personality and remains iconic among fans of the franchise.
Beyond Dragon Ball, Kusao has built an impressive resume across anime, video games, and other media. He briefly pursued a career as a J-Pop vocalist in 1990 before returning to voice acting full-time. His notable roles include Azuma Tetsuya in Casshan, Mao in Code Geass, and Sakuragi Hanamichi in Slam Dunk. Kusao works for Aoni Production and remains active in the industry.
