Kamakyuri

Kamakyuri cut a tall, broadly human silhouette laced with insectile traits. Plates of a ridged, thorn-studded shell wrapped his body, his feet ended in claws, and his forelimbs bent into serrated blades much like a mantis's scythes. Twin mandibles jutted out beside his mouth, and the very top of his head was clear and glassy, so that his brain could be seen straight through it.

His character went almost entirely unexplored. The one glimpse the story offers is a flicker of courtesy toward an opponent, as he moved to state his name, though he was struck down before a single syllable of it escaped.

Dr. Genus engineered Kamakyuri in his laboratory as a synthetic mutant, an evolved take on the praying mantis said to sit among the House of Evolution's stronger creations. When Saitama flattened Mosquito Girl in an instant, Genus became curious about the bald man as a research subject and sent a group after him: the mantis went out with Slugerous and Frog Man, backed by Ground Dragon, Beast King, and Armored Gorilla, all tasked with hauling Saitama in.

Kamakyuri opted to strike from surprise, smashing down through the apartment ceiling while Saitama and Genos lounged below. He began to give his name, but a Saitama annoyed at the damage killed him at once and told him to pay for the broken ceiling. Beyond the walls, Slugerous picked up on his death through their shared telepathy, and a rattled Frog Man observed that the mantis had ranked among their stronger fighters.

Struck down mid-sentence, Kamakyuri never got to show the true reach of his abilities, though his strength was plainly enough to smash clean through concrete. Curiously, no one in the House of Evolution could explain why his weakest spot, the exposed brain, sat right out in the open.
