Hauled aboard the escaping airship, Eren is met with a kick from Levi and placed under restraint; he offers no resistance, insisting nothing in his letters was a lie. Jean orders the perimeter guards aboard while the former Garrison commander Lobov stays below to cover the rear. The count stands at six dead, and Floch spins the raid into triumph, leading cheers for a new Eldian Empire while Connie quietly tells Jean and Sasha how much their survival means to him.

On the ground, Gabi chases the airship on foot with Falco at her heels. She pours out her grief for Udo, Zofia, and the gate guards, and her need to prove to a spitting, contemptuous world that Eldians can be good; Falco's argument that the enemy is only answering Marley's own invasions cannot reach her. She snipes Lobov off his dangling wire, rides the dead man's gear up to the ship with Falco clinging to her, rolls into the cabin, and fires into the celebrating crowd. The bullet strikes Sasha, who bleeds out deliriously asking whether the food is ready; her last word is meat.

The captured children are brought before Zeke, seated beside a still-regenerating Eren, and hear him tell Hange that events have gone largely to plan, the children themselves being among the few miscalculations. In Liberio, Pieck identifies the bearded soldier from the plaza as a woman from the first vanished survey ship and a follower of Zeke, exposing Yelena, whose disguise Levi has already stripped away on board. Hange rebukes Eren for exploiting the Scouts' faith in him to force their hand; Zeke counters that pairing the Founder with royal blood will make every sacrifice worthwhile and Eldia free. Then Connie enters with word that Sasha is gone. Jean lays her death at Eren's feet, and Eren, hearing her final word, breaks into a hollow laugh, remembering the hunter who wanted her stolen lands back so she could raise livestock.

Levi arrests Eren aboard the airship as the raid on Liberio closes with six Scout fatalities.

Gabi kills Lobov and boards the ship with Falco using the dead soldier's maneuvering gear.

Gabi's shot fatally wounds Sasha, and both children are captured.

Pieck identifies Yelena as a Zeke loyalist from a lost Paradis survey mission.

Hange condemns Eren's coercion of the Corps; Sasha dies, and Eren responds with an unnerving laugh.

Hajime Isayama's 105th chapter, third in volume 26, was published May 9, 2018 in Japan and May 8 in English, and adapted directly into the anime episode Assassin's Bullet. It closes out the Marley arc's raid from the airship's vantage point.

The chapter carries Sasha Blouse's death and pairs it with Eren's crestfallen laughter, a beat that crystallizes how far he has drifted from the friends who once knew him.
