Appearance

The surviving piece of his Hollow mask forms a heavy helmet shaped much like a hammerhead shark. Cyan bandages wind over its right side and cover that eye, hiding a wound Grimmjow once dealt him; beneath them lies a gash across the mask and an eye that still looks purely Hollow, a pale ring afloat in darkness, while his left eye stays an ordinary grey. Squared, shark-like teeth lend his speech a faint lisp, and his hair is short and grey. He leaves his Arrancar jacket hanging open to expose the hole in his chest and tends to keep his sword gripped in hand. As an Adjuchas he had been a long, worm-shaped beast topped with the crested hammerhead head his mask still echoes.

Personality

Arrogance defines him. He waves off any attempt by a foe to give their name, deeming it a waste to memorize the identities of people he plans to slaughter that same night. He hungers for the kill, hunts his marks without warning, and takes particular delight in cutting down Shinigami, even scolding a battered Grand Fisher for toying with Ichigo rather than simply taking his head.

History

Before taking Arrancar shape, Di Roy roamed Hueco Mundo alongside an Adjuchas pack that counted Shawlong Koufang, Edrad Liones, Yylfordt Granz, and Nakeem Grindina. When they crossed paths with a small panther-like Adjuchas named Grimmjow, Di Roy cockily announced he would devour him, only for Grimmjow to savage him and rip away part of his head. Impressed, the group knelt and named Grimmjow their king; once they gave up their hope of reaching Vasto Lorde, Grimmjow ate a piece of each and the five became his Fraccion.

He first turns up looking on as Aisslinger Wernarr tends the wounded Grand Fisher, chiding the older Hollow for his sloppy fight with Ichigo. Later, when Grimmjow leads his Fraccion into the living world, Di Roy hunts down Yasutora Sado and, let down that the boy is no Shinigami, lunges to run him through. Ichigo arrives in time to catch the strike, and after sending Sado clear, hands the fight to Rukia Kuchiki, who ejects him from his body using the substitute soul Chappy. Di Roy tries to ambush Rukia from behind with Sonido, but she senses him, blocks with Sode no Shirayuki, and endures his boasts as he names himself the sixteenth Arrancar. She then unleashes Some no mai, Tsukishiro, ringing them both in ice and freezing him solid before the frozen pillar cracks apart and finishes him.
