The Moment of Conclusion, the End of Grimmjow

Though Ichigo Kurosaki cuts Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez down the torso, the Arrancar seizes the blade and refuses to fall, attacking again as Orihime and Nel watch from above. A narrator traces the birth of Gillians from countless merging Hollows and the rare rise of an Adjuchas when one consciousness dominates the rest. In flashback, Grimmjow the panther-like Adjuchas devours rivals in Hueco Mundo, cutting down Di Roy Rinker so effortlessly that Shawlong Koufang and the others kneel and pledge to follow him as their king toward becoming Vasto Lordes.

In the present, Grimmjow stabs both hands into Ichigo's sides and kicks him skyward, enraged that a Human keeps looking down on him. He rises above with Sonído and unleashes his ultimate technique, Desgarrón, five massive energy talons. Another flashback reveals the end of his followers' ambition: their power stalled, they resign themselves to remaining Adjuchas and ask Grimmjow to consume a portion of each of them so he alone can advance, since only some are destined for greatness.

Ichigo blocks the first wave of Desgarrón and is driven into the desert, but he rises and drags his sword through one talon until it shatters, declaring he too intends to win and take his friends home. Cutting through another, he impales Grimmjow, ending the fight, and catches the falling Arrancar as his own Hollow mask crumbles away. Recalling his solitary past, Grimmjow is lowered gently to the sands. Ichigo returns to the tower, reassures Orihime, weathers a grateful tackle from Nel, and holds out his hand so the two can rejoin their waiting friends.

Grimmjow's origins as an Adjuchas and his bond with his future Fracción are shown in flashback. He unleashes his ultimate technique Desgarrón against Ichigo, who cuts through the talons and impales him to end their final battle. Ichigo lowers the defeated Grimmjow to the sands, then rejoins Orihime and Nel.

The episode adapts chapters 284 through 286 in the first part of the Hueco Mundo arc, with the opening After Dark and ending Kansha. It reduces or recolors blood in several scenes relative to the manga and expands numerous flashbacks. It is noted as the last Bleach episode produced in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
