Appearance

Menoly reads as a tomboyish teenager. Her short blonde hair is slicked back with a fringe falling over the right eye, her eyes are green, and the remnant of her Hollow mask, ringed with teeth beneath, covers that right eye completely. She dresses in a short-sleeved white outfit with slit sleeves and a raised collar, its front left unzipped and its cut baring her waist and thighs, cinched by a loose black sash. A segmented choker, rows of white bracelets, black tabi, and low sandals round out the look.

Personality

Rarely far from Loly's side, Menoly is the calmer and more level-headed of the pair, and Loly frequently browbeats or even strikes her whenever she balks at a scheme. Though she helps torment others, her conscience nags at her when Loly pushes too far. She shares her partner's devotion to Aizen, cautioning against anything that might endanger him yet folding the instant he shows the faintest irritation, and she is openly terrified of those stronger than herself, the Espada above all. A more honorable side surfaces after Orihime revives her: grateful and unnerved by that power, she ultimately refuses to raise a hand against the girl.

History

During the Hueco Mundo arc, Menoly and Loly escort Orihime to Aizen and object when he dismisses them to be alone with her, only to grovel the moment his gaze hardens. The two later slip into Orihime's room to bully her, and Loly has Menoly conjure a Cero, a crimson blast fired from the palm, to frighten the prisoner. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez interrupts them, and when he strikes Loly, an enraged Menoly attacks despite her fear; he catches her Cero without effort and blows away much of her upper body, killing her. Orihime restores her whole. In the Fake Karakura Town arc a reluctant Menoly trails Loly back into Orihime's tower to attack the girl again, but her gratitude wins out and she declares the assault pointless, earning a punch from Loly before Yammy arrives and swats her aside. Later, during the Thousand-Year Blood War, she and Loly are rounded up by the Wandenreich's Jagdarmee; the pair ambush Quilge Opie, who shatters Menoly's sword and has them beaten, and her unconscious body is eventually sheltered beneath Orihime's barrier.
