Elsewhere in Hueco Mundo, Yammy Llargo finishes a meal, swats away a yapping Hollow pup, and decides it is time to move. Back at the duel, the Santen Kesshun that shielded Ichigo crumbles, and Ulquiorra presses Orihime on why she guarded him now yet let earlier blows land. She cannot find an answer, so Ichigo cuts the exchange short, telling the Espada to be quiet and warning Orihime to keep her distance. He then launches a Getsuga Tensho, and Ulquiorra, expecting it to fizzle as before, is caught out when Ichigo drives a Getsuga-charged Zangetsu straight at him, though the Espada still blocks it.
