Michiru Ogawa

Michiru keeps her brown hair cropped short, with the front strands fastened back by a clip. Like the rest of her classmates, she dresses in the regulation Karakura High School outfit.

Shy by nature, Michiru admits that Ichigo and Uryu Ishida make her uneasy because neither ever seems to smile, though she insists she holds no real dislike for them; she later clarifies that it is Ichigo's stern face she finds frightening rather than the boy himself. She shares a crafts club with Uryu and is described as a meeha, the kind of person quick to chase whatever is newly popular.

Much of Michiru's role unfolds in the everyday classroom life around Ichigo's group. She reacts to Orihime's strange anecdotes, marvels at her friend's appetite and grades, and helps cover for the chaos when Kon, wearing Ichigo's body, bursts in through a window and provokes Tatsuki. She turns to Uryu to mend a torn doll and thanks him warmly, brings her art project to compare against Tatsuki's, and turns down both Keigo's holiday invitation and Chizuru's romantic advances.

During the Fake Karakura Town arc she is among the townspeople put to sleep. Tatsuki hauls her toward the school, Don Kanonji later carries her to safety, and the group flees with Zennosuke Kurumadani as Aizen looms over them. In the anime-only Beast Swords arc she passes along gossip about the transfer student Kyoko Haida while heading home with her friends.
