Mizuiro Kojima

Mizuiro is a small, boyish-looking student with short black hair split down the middle, a stray lock hanging over his face and the ends flaring outward, set above green eyes. He wears the Karakura High uniform with the jacket zipped shut. After the seventeen-month gap, his hair grows straighter and long enough to cover his ears.

Behind a cheerful front, Mizuiro is level-headed and calculating, holding his nerve even in the presence of Sosuke Aizen and thinking several moves ahead. He is known for chasing older women and for needling his friend Keigo by addressing him as Asano-san whenever he overreacts. He can be surprisingly cold, going as far as to reject his own mother, and Keigo notes that he keeps everyone at a distance, having truly opened up only to Ichigo. He also describes himself as a feminist.

Mizuiro attended Hiragi Junior High alongside Keigo and, on his very first day at the new high school, boldly introduced himself to Ichigo and Yasutora Sado despite their fearsome reputation, an act that cemented the core friend group. Through the Agent of the Shinigami arc he is a fixture of Ichigo's classroom circle, presenting Rukia as a transfer student and quietly seeding the rumors about her and Ichigo. The Fake Karakura Town arc shows his colder nerve: he scavenges emergency supplies from the frozen town, then rolls a canister of flammable gas at Aizen and ignites it, a stunt his stunned friends brand insane. Seventeen months later he still walks to school with Ichigo, and during the Thousand-Year Blood War he correctly reasons that Ichigo must have matters to attend in Soul Society, accepting a Soul Ticket from Captain Shunsui Kyoraku. Years afterward he joins the group at the Kurosaki home to watch Sado's televised boxing match. His combat-relevant traits are few: an aptitude for improvised weapons and a charm skill dubbed Fascination, feigning a meek, submissive front to win over older women, plus enough spiritual power to keep existing near the transformed Aizen.
