Summary

Inside the pocket world Yukio built, Ichigo sweats through a punishing set of push-ups under Ginjō's watch, inching closer to completing his Fullbring. Elsewhere, Chad and Orihime puzzle over Tsukishima's motives. Chad reasons that attacking Ichigo's family and Orihime makes no sense if the goal was simply to keep Ichigo powerless, and suspects the answer lies in Tsukishima's ability itself. Orihime admits she now feels, against all logic, that Tsukishima is a cherished friend who keeps surfacing in her memories.

Ginjō predicts Ichigo will finish his transformation by nightfall and warns that Tsukishima will move to isolate him by picking off his protectors, marking Chad, Orihime, and Xcution as targets. At school, Chad notices that Tatsuki, Keigo, and Mizuiro all bear traces of a strong spiritual signature, likely from contact with Tsukishima. Riruka trails the pair, insisting they stop digging, but Orihime is determined to help Ichigo, even as false memories keep intruding.

The trail leads to a rough high school, where Tsukishima finally reveals himself, having already cut Riruka from behind. Chad and Orihime flee and fight back, with Chad landing a heavy blow and Orihime shielding him. Each time they push, though, fabricated recollections of Tsukishima as an old ally cripple their resolve. He wounds them both the way he wounded Chad before, and the two collapse, left senseless on the ground.

Notes

The episode adapts the opening pages of Chapter 452 and belongs to the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc, expanding the Fullbring investigation with anime-paced detail. The battle is logged as the third round of Fullbring Training on Ichigo's side, running parallel to Chad and Orihime's field encounter. The lighthearted Xcution Dictionary segment closes things out, with the Fullbringers awkwardly celebrating Ichigo's near-complete power by presenting him a homemade doll, a carrying strap, and a video-game likeness, leaving him more baffled than flattered.
