Blazing Bullets

In the wrecked institute, Askin sizes Mayuri up and simply quits, unwilling to spend the countless attempts that killing him would demand, and tells the captain to find another opponent. Mayuri lets him walk, needing more time to read his Reiatsu, and guesses the Sternritter is baiting him onto hostile ground. A tremor announces Sui-Feng overwhelming her foe without a Bankai, which Askin notes falls squarely within Yhwach's forecasts, meaning the Gotei 13 remain in peril.

Bazz-B strides unhurt from the meltwater, mourning only his ruined cape before tearing it off. Sui-Feng seizes an incoming tendril and slams BG9 through a row of buildings, but he rises cloakless, admitting he never breathed at all, a mechanical doll now bristling with missile pods. He thanks her for the data on Mukyu Shunko, decides he no longer needs her stolen Bankai, and buries the area in explosions; she escapes lightly burned, only for a tendril to spear her wrist and detonate around her.

Facing Hitsugaya, Bazz-B recalls surviving Yamamoto's Ryujin Jakka by canceling that inferno with his own flame, then melts the last of the ice lance with a touch. He laments that Hitsugaya lacks the Bankai he would love to thaw with a single finger. When the captain raises Ryojin Hyoheki, a finely woven wall, Bazz-B answers with Burner Finger 1, a concentrated beam of fire that bores through the ice and Hitsugaya's chest.

Mayuri and Askin settle into a wary stalemate. BG9 reveals his mechanical nature and overwhelms Sui-Feng with a missile barrage. Bazz-B recounts surviving Yamamoto's Ryujin Jakka and impales Hitsugaya's chest with Burner Finger 1.
