Summary

Aizen reopens his eyes in the transplanted Seireitei, and Shunsui marvels that his mobility has returned after only five minutes of paralysis from The Underbelly. Watching Shinigami and Quincy pool their power into a shared gate, Aizen reasons they have joined forces not to defend Soul Society but to hunt Yhwach down, and grumbles that Ichigo has become insufferable for reaching the palace ahead of him. In a Garganta far below, Yoruichi jolts an unconscious Ichigo awake with a knee to the back.

Key Events

Ichigo pieces together how the group survived their fall from the palace: he snapped Uryu's arrow in anger, Orihime shielded everyone with Santen Kesshun, and Yoruichi anchored them to a Royal Guard city despite her severed arm. His blackout, it turns out, came from Kon bursting from his robes and cracking his head into Orihime's. With her arm regrown by Soten Kisshun, Yoruichi presses for a swift counterstrike and throws open a Garganta, revealing a stunned Ichigo's unexpected ally, Grimmjow.
