Summary

What Pochita makes Denji cough up turns out to be no devil whatsoever, but instead Yoshida, who was apparently gulped down whole at some stage in the Chainsaw Devil's rampage. Recognizing him at once, Asa demands an apology, naming him the man who severed her right arm. Yoshida observes that both her arms remain, and a dazed Denji notes arms can sometimes regrow. After a brief briefing, including the Aging Devil's wish to be eaten in trade for children's lives, Yoshida recognizes that a cooperative devil like Aging would side with Public Safety.

Key Events

Branding the group technical foes, Yoshida proposes a ceasefire until everyone escapes this realm. He requests Asa's forgiveness, and when she swings to punch him, he catches her fist in a handshake. Asked to join too, Denji wonders whether Yoshida wants him allied with people ready to kill children. Yoshida shares a lesson from his teacher about meeting a bear: since neither side gains from a death, each should be returned to its proper world.

Notes

Though he first thought his teacher too generous toward bears, Yoshida now sees the wisdom given their plight. Denji takes the alliance while still calling him sick; Yoshida labels him a hypocrite for having just vomited him up, while Asa brands Yoshida himself one for cutting off her arm. She notes their devil powers still fail, and realizing that Pochita's belly connects to Denji's own, Yoshida asks whether he can reach a hand into Pochita's mouth.
