Summary

Heading toward a gravesite, Unji refuses to tell Vega how he saved him from the water, scoffing that he won't waste words on a man foolish enough to leap into a river. Vega counters that ten seconds is all anyone has to surface before it is over, and Unji shrugs that drowning alongside him would have proved nothing. At the Zuma family grave Unji thanks Vega for raising the memorial and kneels with him to pray. He speaks of his brother Futa, describing how the boy's pure delight when their mother handed him rubber boots and a new umbrella lifted both Unji and her. Knowing she could not go on once Futa was gone, Unji grieves that he is the one left breathing. Vega rests a hand on his head and tells him firmly he must not die. Back home, the two give thanks for their food.

In the present, Momo stirs awake as Unji's memories end on the pair sharing a meal. The Fairy-Tale Card brands Okarun, Vega, and Rokuro fools for blocking Unji's freedom to run wild and starts merging with his body, until Vega's voice snaps Unji back to himself. The yokai then soars upward, set on breaking out of the cursed trunk. Reunited, Momo blames herself for what has happened, but Okarun reassures her that everything, Unji included, will turn out fine. As the group heads back with the yokai gone, Turbo Granny reaches Rin through the Serpo phone, telling her to let everyone out of the trunk, and Rin confirms she is ready.
