William Clockwell

William keeps his light brown hair in a middle part, the wavy strands curling a little at the front. Fairly thick, defined eyebrows sit above medium eyes, and his face features a straight nose, a somewhat angular jaw, and thin lips. His skin is fair and smooth, and his build is lean and lightly toned rather than heavily muscled.

William blends genuine support with a sharp, sarcastic streak. Warm toward his friends, he stood by Rick through his ordeal with the Global Defense Agency, holding out hope for his recovery even while worrying whether Rick would ever feel like himself again. In his grief he lashed out at Mark, blaming him for not stepping in before Rick was turned into a ReAniman. He can also be oblivious, once cheerfully telling Omni-Man that Mark was off with Eve, though he did notice the blood on Nolan. He cares deeply for Mark, warning him away from a losing fight with Todd, and can turn a little demanding, happily having Mark fly him downtown, pull his car from the impound lot, or fetch takeout from across the world.

William attended Reginald Vel Johnson High School alongside Mark before enrolling at Upstate University to study pre-med. As one of the few people who know Mark leads a double life as Invincible, he settled into the role of the grounded best friend at the hero's side, and in the second season he covered for Mark at Upstate so he could slip away to Thraxa. His romance with Rick Sheridan blossomed after the pair spent time together at the lake, and he remained a devoted partner through the fallout of D.A. Sinclair's experiments, staying close and comforting Rick during his darkest moments.
