Chapter 240

Broadcasts frame Deika City as terrorism by roughly twenty people nursing a grudge against heroes. Every attacker died, the coverage says, along with many residents, among them Chitose Kizuki of Shoowaysha, while Rikiya Yotsubashi, who runs Detnerat, lost both legs. Opinion splits over the civilians who fought back, and investigators keep working the suspicious link between the two companies.

A week on, the League kills time over sushi. Twice performs a mourning offering for Himiko Toga, who points out she is standing right there, and though he agrees the routine unsettles everyone, the splitting continues. Skeptic and Trumpet collect them, Skeptic griping that Army money paid for the sushi, the medical care, Himiko's coat, and the doctored footage.

On the fourth basement level of the Gunga Mountain Villa, Re-Destro speaks before Liberation warriors and League affiliates alike. The Army is reborn, he says, and he misjudged Tomura: chasing Destro's will, they missed that Tomura embodies the freedom Destro described. He surrenders the Grand Commander title, and Tomura christens the merged force the Paranormal Liberation Front, naming the nine on stage as its lieutenants.

Buried in the crowd, Hawks concludes he arrived too late, and regrets that nobody dismantled the League before ordinary people paid for it. He also works out why Dabi waved him through despite the doubts around Best Jeanist's corpse. Between a devoted army, Detnerat's pull over industry, Feel Good Inc's network, and the prospect of more High-End Nomu, he calculates that Tomura now matches or exceeds the heroes.

Tomura tells Re-Destro to get lost, which delights him, then collapses from the strain of his wounds. Daruma Ujiko radios in and confirms that memories and Decay restored to their original state earn Tomura power, with one last request attached. Dabi finds Hawks, who angles for introductions, since an unnamed backer has to surface before the heroes can move.

Skeptic's puppeted objects and false information papered over the Revival Celebration, and the League has taken the Meta Liberation Army's leadership, with members of both installed as officers. Best Jeanist appears to have died at Hawks' hands, a supposed kill Hawks trades for Dabi's trust while he works to identify every benefactor. Geten appears unhooded for the first time.

Chapter 240, by Kohei Horikoshi, runs fifteen pages in volume 25 within the Meta Liberation Army arc, published August 26, 2019 in issue 39, with Episodes 112 and 113 splitting the adaptation. Ujiko's last request feeds straight into My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising.
