Chapter 9

Breakfast at the Forger apartment opens the chapter, where a guilty Anya lingers around the corner until Loid assures her he holds no anger over the school incident. He advises her to treat the lesson as learned and move forward, and at the bus stop he instructs her to make amends with Damian, privately convinced that global stability hinges on the two children patching things up.

Becky greets Anya at the gates and immediately complicates the plan. Whenever Anya moves toward Damian, her new friend drags her off, dismissing the boy and his group as beneath an apology. Loid shadows the girls through the school, first from the rooftop and later dressed as a janitor, growing increasingly frustrated with Becky's interference. Inside the classroom the other students keep their distance from Anya, but Becky brushes off the gossip and asks to be called by her first name, sealing their friendship. Damian, meanwhile, stews over being defied for the first time in his life and cannot stop staring at the back of Anya's head.

Loid escalates through the day: a mirror flashed from the roof spells out a fortune urging her to apologize, her literature textbook is doctored, and even her lunch omelet carries the word "Sorry." When Becky blocks yet another attempt, he uses the intercom to lure her away. Left alone with Damian's group, Anya hears his flunkies mentally rehearsing insults, panics, and delivers her apology in a burst of tears, adding that she wants to be friends. Damian turns scarlet, refuses to admit he has fallen for a commoner, and bolts. Watching Plan B collapse in real time, Loid sinks to the floor.

Anya and Becky formally become friends, with Becky asking to be addressed by name.

Loid infiltrates Eden Academy in multiple disguises and plants apology prompts throughout Anya's school day.

Anya tearfully apologizes to Damian and asks for his friendship.

Damian realizes he has feelings for Anya, denies them, and runs away, leaving the friendship route of Plan B in ruins.

The chapter runs 23 pages in Volume 2 and was released on July 15, 2019, with Anya alone on the cover. It falls within the Eden Beginnings Arc and is adapted in Episode 7 of the anime.

Loid's janitor disguise includes a hat reading "PIKAPIKA," a Japanese onomatopoeia for sparkling light, a nod to the cleaning role he adopts. Alice Paulette and the Eden geometry teacher debut here, while Donovan, Demetrius, and Melinda Desmond receive mentions.
