Over a millennium old, the Angel is a Heian-era sorcerer whom Kenjaku resurrected through incarnation to compete in the Culling Game from within Hana Kurusu. Rather than seize the girl, she shares the body and devotes herself above all to slaying the Disgraced One, Sukuna.
Courteous, clear-headed, and plainspoken, the Angel carries herself as someone who truly wishes the world well. Wiping out every incarnated Culling Game player is the task she has set herself, because seizing living bodies and snuffing out the original occupants' egos counts, to her, as a violation of what she terms God's Law. As she explained to Megumi, that label is merely a name she pins on her personal creed and reflects no faith in a deity. Even though her own return came from a deal with Kenjaku, she now opposes the two of them alike, with Sukuna ranking as the foe she most wants dead.
A pragmatic streak shapes her conduct. She tied herself swiftly to present-day sorcerers whose aim of halting Kenjaku matched her own, worked out instantly that they had come hunting her ability, and used that power as a bargaining chip, demanding they help end Sukuna before she would give anything back. After throwing in with Yuji, Megumi, and company, she volunteered information and her judgment of events to win their trust, and once Hana lay nearly destroyed, she kept her word by lending her power to release Gojo.
The origin of her bond with Hana remains a mystery, yet Hana has never resisted it. Opting to coexist instead of dominate, the Angel leaves the girl in charge of their shared body, close enough to know Hana's hidden affection for Megumi, which she ribs her about lightly while honoring her wish to keep it private. Hana's protection comes first for her, since endangering the girl endangers herself as well, and she tried without success to halt Hana when Sukuna toyed with the girl's feelings to make her lower her guard.
Ten centuries back, in the Heian era, the Angel served in the Desshi Pacification Squad, an elite unit raised by the Abe Clan and reinforced with what remained of the Sugawara Clan. The squad once moved against Sukuna, but he repelled them while brandishing the pair of weapons he is known for. The animosity she conceived toward him then has lasted a thousand years and still fuels her drive to destroy him.
Without any way of her own to become a cursed object, she ultimately took Kenjaku up on his offer to incarnate after dying, joining the long line of sorcerers who had done the same over the ages. She wound up inside the young Hana Kurusu and, breaking from the usual pattern, built a symbiotic bond rather than crushing her host. Not long afterward, the two were pulled into Kenjaku's Culling Game.
The Angel held genuine rank as a sorcerer in the Heian era, jujutsu's golden age, fighting among the Abe Clan's elite until Sukuna brought her down. Her lasting menace springs from an innate technique that cancels every form of jujutsu without exception, which renders her uniquely deadly toward fellow incarnations, beings of curse fused into living flesh. Hana demonstrates that strength: an untrained girl who still endured the Culling Game and became its sole player free to pass between Colony borders thanks to the Angel.
Her power is named Technique Extinguishment, capable of negating any cursed technique and undoing barriers, seals, and cursed objects, even special-grade ones such as the Prison Realm. Still, she admits that separating an incarnated sorcerer from a host without killing both is all but impossible, given how curse and flesh are fused in them. The technique peaks as Jacob's Ladder, an extension form where she summons a luminous four-winged trumpet alongside a vast glowing ring above; blowing the trumpet drops a column of light that extinguishes whatever stands below. With it she came close to expelling Sukuna from Megumi and afterward unsealed Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm.
Through incarnation she gives Hana the ability to hover and fly, but she cannot trade hosts the way Sukuna does, having never learned to split her soul across several objects. Beyond firepower, a keen mind earns her high regard: she pinned the surge of foreign non-sorcerers into a Colony on Kenjaku, alone grasped the real worth of Takaba's Comedian technique, and understood how Domain Amplification, clashing domains, and Reverse Cursed Technique recovery operate.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

The Angel acts as an ally to the heroes in Jujutsu Kaisen, allying with Yuji, Megumi, and company because their aim of halting Kenjaku matches her own. Even though her return came from a deal with Kenjaku, she now opposes both him and Sukuna, with Sukuna ranking as the foe she most wants dead.
It is Hana Kurusu, not the Angel, who harbors hidden affection for Megumi. Because the Angel shares Hana's body and leaves her in charge of it, she is close enough to know that feeling and ribs Hana about it lightly while honoring her wish to keep it private.
