Lean yet corded with muscle, Naobito has the tall frame of a man well into old age, his mid-length white hair usually swept back to rest just past his neck. Long brows with heavy edges shade gray eyes, and a thin English mustache reaches beyond both cheeks. Lounging at home he wears an olive green yukata cinched with a teal sash and keeps a red gourd close by. Mission dress drapes a dark blue yukata under a pale gray haori, the ensemble paired with brown zori, white tabi, and black hakama. The Shibuya Incident scarred him badly, Dagon's shikigami tearing off his right arm and Jogo's flames searing the skin across his frame.

Hot-tempered and aloof, Naobito sat oddly with the dignity expected of a clan leader, and his constant drinking made many question his fitness for the post. Reared on the Zenin's traditionalist creed, he became an arrogant man who brushes off anyone he ranks beneath himself, kin and nieces alike. His feud with Maki, who holds barely any cursed energy, cut deep enough that he threatened her through her sister and stonewalled her promotions. He proudly announced he would not lament watching Satoru Gojo's house fall, and he kept a cocky grin through every battle while jeering at allies and enemies both. A habitual drunk who flat-out demands booze from his gourd, he chose a nap over fighting transfigured humans beside Maki at the Shibuya Incident's outset, sparing his attention only for tough foes like Dagon, with whom he swapped banter mid-fight.

Up to his death, Naobito stood among the jujutsu world's most respected combatants, both as the special grade 1 sorcerer he was and as the man steering the Zenin household. Marrying Projection Sorcery to martial skill and impeccable timing won him the reputation of the quickest sorcerer beneath Gojo. He outclassed Dagon in close quarters despite the curse holding far deeper reserves and a broader arsenal, rescued Maki from a killing blow, and ran circles around fellow grade 1 Nanami in their early exchanges. Sharp battle reading let him track Dagon's evolution and open gaps for his comrades until the curse named him its toughest opponent. Owning no domain himself, he turned aside enemy domains with Falling Blossom Emotion, enduring a deluge of man-eating fish for more than a minute and surrendering only one arm. His inherited Projection Sorcery cuts a single second into twenty-four frames, tracing preset motions within that span through his field of view; anything his palm meets must keep to those frames or freeze for a full second inside one animated frame, letting him outrun the eye and trap slower opponents. As a master of close combat, he buried foes under a torrent of swift punches and kicks, a lone strike once making Dagon spew up human skeletons.
