Key Events

Kneeling beside a recovering Nobara and Akari, Nanami assures them Ijichi will pull through and reminds them the man had originally trained as a sorcerer rather than a manager. The two also catch up on Gojo's situation, which they missed while sheltering from Yuji's shouting. Telling the pair to sit tight until help arrives, Nanami sets off to link up with the Zenin Team headed for the station, stressing that the coming fights call for grade 1 sorcerers and above. Down on the Fukutoshin Line platform, Mei Mei meets Pseudo-Geto and dismisses the notion that he could really live, since that would mean Gojo had slipped up. Thinking back on the assassin he just dispatched, she confesses that among the two special grade students she had once favored Geto over Gojo.

The imposter calls up a disease curse of special grade, the Smallpox Deity, then leaves with a promise to fight Mei Mei himself should she manage to exorcise it. A Domain Expansion from the curse seals her inside a coffin, after which a huge gravestone crashes down and buries it underground. A countdown to three begins, yet Mei Mei cuts her way out before it finishes, marveling that her life has not been at risk for ages. Above, Yuji bolts into the station and crosses paths with Choso, who knows him as the killer of his brothers.

Notes

Choso triggers Blood Manipulation, employing Convergence to crush blood outside his body down to a single point, then unleashes Piercing Blood, an arrow reinforced with cursed energy that flies at the speed of sound. The strike nearly runs through Yuji's left arm, which he manages to block by a hair. Pressing in once it ends, Yuji delivers a Divergent Fist with that wounded arm, its double impact baffling Choso, who guards against the blow. As the action stalls, Choso asks whether his younger brothers had any last words before Yuji took their lives. The chapter falls within the Shibuya Incident Arc and was adapted across Episode 36 and Episode 37.
