Restored to his own body, Yuji surveys the ruin Sukuna left behind and nearly shatters before resolving to keep fighting. Deep in the station, a burned and exhausted Nanami makes a final stand against transfigured humans and meets an old enemy waiting in the dark.
Yuji comes to amid the wreckage of Shibuya and the bodies of those Sukuna killed. The horror nearly undoes him, yet he forces his mind into a cold, focused calm, unwilling to stay a mere murderer. Elsewhere, Nanami has survived his earlier fights only to be left gravely wounded and weary, wandering the station alone until both a horde of enemies and a familiar curse converge on him.
Having dropped Megumi at the Shibuya Tollgate for treatment, Sukuna comes back near Shibuya 109, returns control of the body, and tells Yuji to take a good look. Yuji wakes to find Dogenzaka reduced to a wasteland, with Shigemo's corpse the first sight to greet him. The rampage's memories surge back, and he retches and sobs upon grasping that Sukuna slaughtered countless people, Mimiko and Nanako among them. Remembering his old readiness to be executed, he claws at the ground and tells himself to die, then suddenly halts, raises his head, and resolves that he must move and fight rather than end up nothing more than a killer.
Within the station a telephone rings as Nanami treads the corridors. Jogo's flames had scorched him and Dagon's Death Swarm had torn into him, leaving the left side of his body and face badly burned, yet he stays on his feet with his sword. He passes a photo booth, and after he goes by, Mahito slips out of it. Facing a throng of transfigured humans, Nanami daydreams of a peaceful Malaysian life, a beach house, and the books he never got through, conceding to himself that he is simply worn out. He hews through the swarm until Mahito's hand presses against his chest. Speaking inwardly to the departed Yu Haibara, Nanami is steered to glance right, where Yuji has entered the hall. He smiles at his student, tells him he has it from here, and Mahito obliterates the upper half of his body.
