The fifth installment of the Sakurajima Colony fight drops two unlikely allies into Maki's struggle against Naoya. A swordsman and a sumo enthusiast, both relics out of step with modern Japan, change the shape of the battle.
With Noritoshi on the verge of being overwhelmed, help arrives from two strangers whose passions no longer fit the world around them: a swordsman carrying no blade and a sumo devotee who can find no one to face. Searching for a way past Naoya's defenses, Maki gambles by surrendering her own weapon to the swordsman, betting everything on his uncanny mastery.
A flashback to November 2nd traces how the pair reached the colony. Newly incarnated in Kagoshima, Hagane Daido could not grasp how katanas had vanished from daily life, wandering and shouting for a sword he could not locate. Down in Miyazaki, Rokujushi Miyo searched in vain for a sumo opponent, spotted a televised bout, and set off for Tokyo only to wander into the Sakurajima Colony by mistake.
Back in the present, the two abruptly enter Noritoshi's fight. Naoya ignores their arrival and presses his attack, prompting Maki to shield the injured Noritoshi. Sensing she still has not fully recovered, Noritoshi tries to send her away, but Daido cuts in with his frantic cries. Maki shifts her strategy and tosses her Split Soul Katana to him. The instant Daido grips the cursed tool, a wave of dread sweeps over everyone present, not from cursed energy but from his raw killing intent with a blade.
His first swing only grazes Naoya. Realizing the weapon is no ordinary sword, Daido commands it to obey and dodges Naoya's counter with ease. When Maki marvels that he can battle a foe he cannot perceive, Daido explains that seeing everything else amounts to the same thing. He then cleaves Naoya in two with a single stroke, leaving Maki rattled and questioning what separates her from the monster she encountered during the Shibuya Incident. Miyo answers by conjuring a sumo ring through his simple domain and beckoning her into a match.
The chapter belongs to the Culling Game Arc and ran in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 39 of 2022, releasing on August 29, 2022. It is collected in Volume 22, with Daido featured on the cover. The action concludes the bout pairing Maki and Noritoshi against Naoya while opening the new clash of Maki, Daido, and Miyo against him. Featured powers include the Split Soul Katana cursed tool and Miyo's Simple Domain. Toji Fushiguro appears only within Maki's thoughts.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....
