Geto's old lieutenants Miguel and Larue enter the Shinjuku battle to honor their dead friend, rescuing Ui Ui and Kusakabe. After a flashback to recruiting Miguel, the fight turns when a second Black Flash lands on Larue.
Honoring the friend they lost, two of Suguru Geto's allies, Miguel and Larue, step into the conflict. Convincing Miguel to face Sukuna took real effort, yet the fighter who once held his own against Gojo may turn out to be exactly what the sorcerers need.
Geto's former commanders reach Shinjuku and use their techniques to pull Ui Ui and Kusakabe out of danger. A flashback shows that ahead of the Gojo and Sukuna clash, Yuta and Larue had flown to Africa hoping to enlist Miguel. He turned them down, judging Sukuna too lethal to risk even while the curse was worn out, and demanded that Gojo himself ask in person if his aid truly mattered. Larue asked for a private word, and after dwelling on their shared loyalty to Geto, he talked Miguel into joining as a way to grieve their leader together. Miguel agreed only on the terms that he face Sukuna after Gojo and Yuta fell and that the curse be denied his domain, and he asked Larue to back him up.
In the present, Miguel thanks Gojo for stripping Sukuna of his domain. Larue lists the curse's weak points: a faltering reverse cursed technique, one unfinished lower arm, a ruined lower right arm split apart, and a heart that has not closed. Reading him as exposed, the pair attack, and the brawl carries them into a tall building where Larue pins Sukuna to a wall with a conjured hand. Sukuna smashes the hand, gashing Larue's right hand in return, then lashes out at both. Larue endures while Miguel weaves past the slashes and a follow-up kick to fight up close. Larue's Heart Catch grasps a target through a virtual hand, regenerating after it breaks though a tenth of any damage rebounds onto him. Finding it dull, Sukuna shifts his focus onto Prayer Song, the ability Miguel uses to boost himself and repel curses by keeping a steady beat.
During the Africa visit, Gojo had explained that Miguel strengthens himself and saps his foe without a domain, which is what makes him so effective. He claimed Miguel's build, unlike that of the mostly Japanese sorcerers, granted superior physicality, an argument Miguel angrily dismissed as a racist stereotype, insisting his strength came from hard work, prompting Gojo to apologize. He added that on energy reinforcement alone he would take a marathon while Miguel would take a sprint. In the present, Choso's Piercing Blood misses as Sukuna ducks behind cover, then a returned Dismantle wounds Choso's arms. Yuji crashes through the ceiling onto Sukuna. A note explains that the world-cutting slash once needed only the Enmaten signs that open Malevolent Shrine, but with half his arms gone to Hollow Purple, Sukuna bound the slash with incantations and hand-guidance instead. Maki then severs his upper left arm, proving she survived her earlier Black Flash. With two right arms left, the blessing of black sparks strikes again as Sukuna lands a second Black Flash, this time into Larue, putting him on track to recover his output the way Gojo once did.
