Sukuna lays bare Yuji's bizarre lineage as Kenjaku's child who carries the reincarnation of Sukuna's devoured twin. In the present, Yuji wields Shrine and Blood Manipulation, and with Ino aiding him, hammers the King of Curses with seven straight Black Flashes.
The eerie truth of how Yuji came to exist is finally exposed. Because of the unusual conditions surrounding his birth, he holds the capacity not just to stand even with the King of Curses but to climb beyond him.
Ahead of his clash with Gojo, Sukuna fields Uraume's questions about who Yuji truly is. He discloses that Yuji is Kenjaku's offspring. As for Yuji's father, Jin Itadori, Sukuna explains he is none other than the reborn form of the twin brother Sukuna consumed inside their mother's womb. At Yuji's birth, Kenjaku embedded one of Sukuna's fingers in him so that he could double as both Sukuna's vessel and a Culling Game competitor, leaving Uraume to wonder whether such a bloodline could let Yuji match Sukuna.
In the now, the two swap Black Flash-laced blows that fling Yuji into a pillar marked with crossing cut lines. By this point Yuji wields two cursed techniques: Blood Manipulation, absorbed from Death Painting Wombs four through nine, and Shrine, etched in during Sukuna's incarnation and drawn out by his Black Flash awakening. He hurls the sliced pillar, grabs Sukuna's foot under cover of the debris, and lands a heavy body shot, his third Black Flash. Healing the foot, Sukuna notes that although Yuji shares his technique its form differs because of their vastly different eras, and that Yuji's output stays low from only just awakening.
A flashback shows Ino winning approval from Gojo, Shoko, and Ijichi to wield Nanami's cursed tool, since Nanami trusted him most. Back in the present, Ino summons Auspicious Beast Number Four, Ryu, which rams Sukuna into a wall before being shredded, then swings Nanami's blunt sword, the distraction earning Yuji a fourth Black Flash as a spent Ino collapses. Enraged that Yuji keeps chaining the technique to claim equality, Sukuna counters, but takes a fifth when thrown into a wall and a sixth after carving Yuji's face. As Sukuna starts to curse him, Ino's thrown sword cuts him, and Yuji caps the run with a seventh consecutive Black Flash, an uppercut to the King of Curses' back.
