Summary

With Kechizu already dead by her hand, Nobara threatens Eso with the same fate, and Yuji rushes to finish the older brother off. Eso's tears over his slain family freeze Yuji in place. Both students then notice that Kechizu's body has not vanished the way an exorcised curse should, and the truth dawns on them: these foes are not pure cursed spirits but beings of flesh and blood. The hesitation hands Eso his chance when a truck rolls out of the tunnel where the brawl has carried; he grabs the passengers as hostages and tries to break away from his kin's killers, gambling he can slip off now and return for revenge.

Key Events

Pursuit is beyond Yuji, so Nobara turns Eso's own severed arm into a weapon, channeling Straw Doll Technique: Resonance so that large black nails punch out through his torso. Coming right after Black Flash, the strike lands with savage power. Eso pitches off the truck, and Yuji closes in to end things, murmuring an apology a heartbeat before driving a Divergent Fist clean through the curse's chest. Eso's blood scorches Yuji's hand, yet he says the ache cuts far deeper than any burn. The duel between the two first-years and the brothers is thereby concluded.

Notes

Well away from the bridge, Choso is mid board game with Kenjaku and Mahito when he feels his younger brothers slip away. He snaps the pieces, which annoys Mahito, while Kenjaku digs into the matter, doubting the pair could lose to a mere Finger Bearer. After scrolling his phone, Kenjaku reports the culprits, the names of Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki, two Jujutsu High first-years credited with felling both brothers, a revelation that thrills Mahito. The chapter brings Choso into the present timeline and ties to the anime's twenty-fourth episode.
