Cloud

Cloud is an Emitter Quirk of close range, once held by Oboro Shirakumo. It generates clouds of assorted sizes and densities, tangible enough to touch and firm enough to carry the weight of one person or several. Its debut falls in Chapter 59 and Episode 19 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

The Quirk has a grim afterlife. When All For One took Oboro's corpse and had Kyudai Garaki turn it into a Nomu, the Quirk Factor underwent heavy modification and became the foundation of Kurogiri's Warp Gate. That later power throws out a dark fog that functions as a portal, and it appears to retain none of the original abilities.

The clouds float, so Oboro rode them through the air at considerable speed, and they could store objects tucked inside them. Getting around was the everyday application. Height stopped mattering: he entered his U.A. classroom through an upper-floor window rather than the door, and he slipped into a hostage room alongside Midnight when the Robber Villain held people captive.

In a fight, flight and speed translated into maneuverability, letting him slide away from attacks and come back at an enemy from angles they could not watch. He also raised billows to blank out an opponent's sight, or produced a spread of clouds and hid inside one of them, throwing his voice with a gourd-shaped speaker so the enemy struck an empty cloud and left an opening for an ambush from another.

Density served as armor. Oboro packed the clouds tight to absorb impacts and to canopy people underneath, which is how he kept a group of nursery children safe from the debris of a collapsing building. His named Ultimate Move, Cloud Cover, condenses the idea into a small cloud placed over an enemy's face to blind them.

Oboro Shirakumo is the only true user. Kurogiri wields Warp Gate, the heavily altered descendant of Cloud's Quirk Factor, rather than Cloud itself.
