Sajin Higawara

Muscular and heavy-framed, Sajin had turquoise eyes and a long mustache. His hair was a light ash blond, bound into a lengthy ponytail that spilled out from under his mask.

The mask was dark blue and sat over the crown of his head. Below it he wore what looked like a combat vest in green and silver, tubes running from it to his back.

Sajin's heroism was rooted in the people left behind. The grief of crime victims and the families of the murdered clearly weighed on him, and in the middle of a villain fight he did not hesitate to drop everything and pull the officers transporting Overhaul out of a crashing van.

What genuinely enraged him was Dabi savoring the notoriety his killings had earned. Sajin demanded to know whether the villain had ever spared a thought for the relatives of the people he burned.

His Quirk, Sandstorm, converted everything above his waist into sand, which he controlled mentally, increase its volume, and shape it into constructs, a lion among them. The transformation carried two useful immunities: Decay could not affect a body reduced to countless grains, since Tomura Shigaraki's Quirk needed five fingers on solid matter, and the sand also resisted fire well enough that Dabi's flames did nothing to it.

Once the heroes had broken the Shie Hassaikai, special police vehicles moved the yakuza toward a villain hospital in Takodana, with Sajin riding in one car as the Police Force's bodyguard. Tomura and several other villains hit the convoy looking for revenge on Overhaul. Dabi struck Sajin's car, and the hero came out swinging and taunting the League. Tomura leapt down and reached for him, only for Decay to find nothing to grip. Sajin moved to restrain him and was cut off by Atsuhiro Sako, whose Quirk flung the police car skyward. He landed safely on the road with the driver in his arms.

Dabi confronted him next. Sajin worked out from the Quirk and the burnt corpses in the news that this was the serial killer everyone was hunting. Dabi was delighted to be recognized. Sajin threw a sand lion at him while demanding an answer about the families, and Dabi's expression finally dropped. The hero was swallowed by Blueflame and then crushed into a sphere with the flames still sealed inside, which killed him, since only his upper body could become sand. The convoy attack and his death made the news that night. Later, Enji Todoroki raised Snatch's name to Dabi, who could not place it at the time and withdrew once Rumi Usagiyama appeared. Walking away, Dabi remembered exactly who he was, and the memory of those last words drove him to shed a tear of blood.
