Chapter 100 (Vigilantes)

From the rooftops of a city with no power, Number 6 lays out his design alongside the O'Clock illusion. His troops, the Anonymous, share a single hive mind, built to unsettle civilians and to disappear into a crowd without a trace. Killing communications deepens the panic and, more importantly, keeps a hero of All Might's caliber from ever hearing about it.

Down at street level, Koichi urges frightened people toward shelter while the pros take stock. Inside Naruhata Station, the three pros on hand, Edgeshot, Best Jeanist, and Ingenium, determine the blackout stretches kilometers past their position, and with roads and rail suspended, restoring power looks difficult. Best Jeanist, who sees an echo of the Sky Egg Bombing here, makes outside contact the priority. Ingenium leaves to reach his agency, Best Jeanist goes to tend the crowds, and Edgeshot takes the survey while trying to raise Detective Naomasa.

Koichi steps into the station beside Eraser Head, offers the pros his thanks for the work they have been doing, and gets barely a stride toward the exit before Eraser Head's capturing weapon closes around him, making the arrest official. Asked why he did not simply run earlier, Koichi says the thanks was the least he owed them. Eraser Head tells Edgeshot he will take the hospital and link with Naomasa himself, minding Koichi along the way. On the walk he outlines the plan, handing Koichi to the police and Midnight when they arrive, with a reminder that running earns him broken legs.

Three civilians on the curb start screaming for help, and the pair break off to assist; the other heroes see the same thing happening elsewhere. With everyone's attention split, Number 6 announces Phase Four and his scar begins to glow. The people Koichi and Eraser Head reach are Anonymous, and across the city the villains start blowing themselves apart, living traps by their master's description. Eraser Head clocks the resemblance to the Bombers, weaker in yield but far better at fighting. Koichi's repulsion blast does nothing to slow their advance, so Eraser Head uses Erasure to stall the detonations long enough to knock them clear.

As a fresh wave closes in, he orders Koichi to run while he holds them. He is a teacher now, he says, minding twenty students who never stop finding trouble, which makes a mob of villains restful by comparison. His parting instruction is a message for Naomasa: Bomber Villains, an unknown number already inside the town, and heroes working the problem. Koichi bolts, leaving Eraser Head to the Anonymous.

The Anonymous are identified as hive-mind villains grown from Bomber Villain cells, able to jam communications, pass as civilians, and self-destruct.

Number 6 confirms he cut communications specifically to keep All Might out of the situation.

Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, and Ingenium split up to restore outside contact, while Eraser Head arrests Koichi and takes him toward the hospital.

Phase Four of Operation Anonymous begins, with the villains detonating across the city.

Eraser Head holds off a swarm so Koichi can escape and carry a warning about the Bomber Villains to Naomasa Tsukauchi.

The hundredth chapter of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court runs 21 pages, released April 24, 2021, and belongs to volume 13 and the Naruhata Lockdown arc. The Crawler, Eraser Head, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, and Ingenium share the cover, and a sketch accompanies it.

Serialization first ran the chapter under the title Anonymous, given in Japanese as Anonimasu, which the volume edition later changed.

No installment since Chapter 12 had carried a color page until this one. The O'Clock seen advising Number 6 is an illusion, a disguise worn by All For One.
