Chapter 213

Daigoro Banjo resumes his lecture and names the tendrils: Blackwhip, the Quirk he once carried, surfacing through One For All. It answered because Izuku Midoriya's mind was locked on capturing Neito Monoma, an impulse that suited it. The Quirk factor of every past holder, he explains, has lain dormant in a small core at the heart of the power, and that core is swelling as the Quirk grows, which is why Blackwhip now hits harder than it did in his own hands. Assuring his successor the predecessors are all behind him, he fades.

Izuku comes to in midair, caught by Ochaco Uraraka, who lowers him with Zero Gravity and waves off his warnings, since Brainwashing already settled the outburst. He notices her injuries and starts apologizing, and Neito lunges at his back, reaching for skin so Copy can take One For All. Ochaco blocks him with the martial arts she picked up interning under Gunhead.

Reiko Yanagi answers with Poltergeist, flinging scrap that Yui Kodai had grown using Size, which frees Neito. Mina Ashido and Minoru Mineta crash into the 1-B regroup for a five-way scrap. Hitoshi Shinso's Capturing Weapon then snaps toward Ochaco, Izuku catches it barehanded, and their own fight opens. Above, All Might floats calling the round off; Shota Aizawa wants it to run.

Blackwhip is identified as the fifth user's own Quirk, driven by anger.

Five further abilities from past holders are confirmed to be waiting inside the Quirk.

Shota declines to interfere, and Round Five rolls on.
