Chapter 338

Izuku Midoriya's plea hangs in the air until Naomasa Tsukauchi has Sansa Tamakawa cover Yuga Aoyama's mouth. Whatever the pressure he was under, the detective points out, he still worked with All For One, and nobody can rule out the kind of rigging found in Lady Nagant until Central Hospital has examined him.

Questioning of the parents resumes. They never passed word about the Kamino Incident, since contact only ever ran one way and they could not reach him. Izuku interrupts to underline the point: nobody can find All For One. Denki Kaminari connects it to the earlier idea of steering the enemy into the fight, and Momo Yaoyorozu takes the next step, suggesting Yuga may be the only person capable of feeding him a lie. Yuga, meanwhile, cannot understand why anyone would put faith in a despicable villain.

Present Mic asks the class outright why the people hurt worst by all this are the ones willing to trust him. Tenya Ida answers that it is done and behind them, that none of them noticed what he was carrying and so they share the blame, and that reaching out as friends is the only route back to standing as equals.

Katsuki Bakugo offers his own accounting, saying a couple of Howitzer Impacts would square things nicely. Eijiro Kirishima shouts that of course going up against All For One looked impossible, but Izuku has handed him and his parents a way out at last, and nobody here would ever hold being Quirkless against him or resent him for swallowing his tears in private.

Naomasa warns them to stay cool, since the Aoyamas have already said their master detects lies. Then Shota Aizawa's voice arrives through a tablet in Present Mic's hands, asking Izuku whether he has a plan. He does not. Shota turns to the detective, takes responsibility for missing Yuga's pain himself, lines up behind his students, and tells Yuga that expulsion is not on the table.

He does have an idea. Once the family's ears are covered, he lays it out for the class, the staff and the police. Nezu judges it workable. Naomasa has the Aoyamas escorted back to headquarters and orders total silence about the plan. Izuku calls out to Yuga as he goes, the class watching in silence.

Back at Heights Alliance the students catch their breath before gearing up again, fury over the betrayal now pointed squarely at All For One. Izuku and Tenya head to the Development Studio to get their costumes repaired, and Izuku is promptly caught in an all too familiar explosion. Mei Hatsume lands on top of him out of the smoke and asks what he needs, while his expression stays flat.

Yuga and his parents are sent to Central Hospital for further examination. Class 1-A chooses to forgive him so that he can help bring All For One down, and Shota Aizawa backs his students while putting forward a plan built around Yuga.

A trip to the Development Studio for costume repairs brings Izuku and Tenya face to face with Mei Hatsume once again.
