Asaka

The same fierce loyalty runs through Asaka as through his brothers; he will lay down his life for them or the mission without a second thought, a resolve tempered by a rough upbringing. Having tasted genuine hardship, he came to value every scrap of comfort. He keeps the coolest exterior of the four, burying his sorrow to keep moving, though he loves his family deeply and means to make their sacrifices worth something. Being the firstborn, he stands as the group's leader, and each sibling trusts his earring to Asaka's care.

Asaka wields Water Release capably, conjuring water clones, while the tanto at his side suggests some training with a blade. He shares his brothers' command of the forbidden Haze-Style techniques, and his hallmark is a devastating blast that wipes out his foes together with himself. Laying a hand flat against the earth, he can also pick out people over great distances.

Asaka and his siblings began as orphans taken in by an orphanage in the Land of Haze; though the country was poor, it kept them adequately fed, and they whiled away their days beneath a broad peach tree. Years on, the four drew an assignment to recover the First Hokage Hashirama Senju's harvested cells, which had turned up on the Land of Silence's black market. Posing as women, they worked to lure Kirisaki into naming where the cell was, until Boruto, also disguised as a woman, stole his attention. Shadowing the group, they discovered Sakuya held the cell, and Yoruga passed his earring to Asaka and gave his life to break the castle's barrier, asking only that the earring be placed by the peach tree at home.

With Yoruga's sacrifice opening the way past the barrier ninjutsu, Asaka slipped into the castle with Hiruga and Yuga, and he and Yuga tracked down and killed Sakuya to seize the cell. When Boruto turned up, they pinned the killings on him and fled, grieving Yoruga once safely clear. On the road home enemies gave chase, so Yuga, and then Hiruga, each dropped back to buy time, handing their earrings to Asaka as they went. Later, when Hiruga reappeared, Asaka mistook him for a foe wearing his dead brother's face and lashed out in a rage, only for Boruto to halt him and explain that Hiruga had broken off his stand upon learning of a looming new threat. Grateful that a sibling still drew breath, Asaka agreed to ally with the Konoha shinobi despite their opposing aims. Then Deepa appeared and cut the brothers down; regaining his senses to find his brother dead and his team's deaths for nothing, Asaka resolved to make his stand, offering Deepa the Hashirama Cell if he would leave them be. Deepa agreed, only for Asaka to seize hold of him and set off his Red Spider Lily in a bid to end him, a blast that Deepa's carbon-toughened body simply shrugged aside.
