My Story!

The five Kage return home alongside Sasuke and Boruto, greeted by tearful reunions as Hinata and Himawari rush Naruto and Boruto while Sakura and Sarada hold Sasuke. The wreckage left by the attack forces the Chūnin Exams to be scrapped, and Naruto is buried in paperwork while Boruto nurses a bandaged arm. Boruto apologises to Team Shinki for his conduct and takes some teasing from Sarada. In private, Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru weigh the danger still hanging over them, since Urashiki got away and the reach of his abilities remains unknown. Sasuke resolves to leave and hunt him down.

Shikamaru reminds Naruto that the exams at least let them gauge the young shinobi's skills, that Katasuke still needs dealing with, and that Killer B has gone back to Kumogakure, brushing off Naruto's wish for a break until the desk is clear. At the mission counter, Team 7 catches up with a recovered Mitsuki and Team 10. Riding the train together, Boruto and Shikadai push past their awkwardness, each apologising, Boruto for cheating and Shikadai for the long silence, and they trade thoughts on the kind of ninja they want to become. Heading back to Sunagakure, Shinki reflects on the supposedly weak Boruto beating a far stronger foe; Gaara, who told him to stand down, hears Shinki insist he would have lost anyway, and advises him to walk his own path.

Boruto tells Sasuke he has not glimpsed Momoshiki again nor felt the earlier paralysis, and is asked to keep his teacher posted, while Sarada requests help perfecting her Great Fireball Technique. A snake-clone Orochimaru quietly warns Mitsuki about nearly using senjutsu in the open. Interviewed about the battle, Boruto denies wanting the Hokage title, calling it Sarada's dream while his own is to grow into someone like Sasuke, then peels back his bandage to study the diamond-shaped mark on his hand. At home, Naruto brings a cake to atone for the birthdays he missed, Boruto punches his gut to confirm he is no shadow clone, and Hinata threatens to withhold the cake when Himawari piles on. The next morning father and son oversleep, bump fists, and part for their duties. In the dimension where Momoshiki fell, Urashiki recognises Boruto as the boy Toneri had been watching and muses that he could become a real threat.
