Konoha Cryptanalysis Team

The Konoha Cryptanalysis Team, also known as the Cryptology Team, is the Hidden Leaf's dedicated code-breaking outfit, taking its orders directly from the Hokage. It works out of a library-styled office stocked with a computer and rows of vertical files that hold nearly every cipher the village relies on for missions and messages. The unit keeps close ties to the shinobi who run the Konoha Aviary.

When the messenger hawk Takamaru reaches the aviary carrying a sealed scroll sent by the village's swiftest bird, Natori grasps the urgency and contacts the cryptologist Yurika, who hurries to Tsunade with news that Akatsuki has captured the Fifth Kazekage. The team's value shows again when it is asked to crack a code left behind by Jiraiya.

Mitoku heads the unit, while Yurika and Shiho carry out much of its decoding work. With assistance from Naruto and Kakashi in locating the key, Shiho unravels Jiraiya's hidden note, which reveals that the true target is not among the visible bodies, a clue pointing toward the identity of the real Pain. When Pain's later assault levels their office, the team simply relocates to a tent and keeps working.
